With the economy getting tighter, many consumers are looking to downsize on their budget. MetroPCS offers quality service with no contract cell phones.

Unemployment is still high, yet consumers still need to be accessible if they are seeking a job, connecting with family or just want a cell phone for emergencies. Whatever the reason may be, MetroPCS is offering good service coverage for a lower cost than more popular cell phones service providers such as Verizon or TMobile.

MetroPCS Service

MetroPCS offers phone service at four different price points, $40, $45, $50 and $60 with options to add additional services to your phone. The beauty of MetroPCS is what they offer with each plan; unlimited text messaging and minutes. Also they do not require any fees to sign up, so if a consumer is looking to get phone service immediately, all they need to purchase is the phone and decide on a plan.

No Contract Cell Phone

What does "no contract" mean exactly? Essentially a consumer can purchase a phone and use MetroPCS without being tied to a contract promising to stay with the company for any length of time. If the purchaser decides to go elsewhere or stop the service, they simply have to pay for the last month of use.

Cell phones with no contracts will be more expensive however than more popular cell phone service providers. MetroPCS offers phones that range from a basic Kyocera phone at the $30 price range up to $350 for a Blackberry smart phone.

Also for a flat monthly fee they offer unlimited web service for phones. They provide a 3-G network and packages for caller ID, voice mail and conference calling.

Cheap Metro PCS Phones

MetroPCS has more than Kyocera for inexpensive phones. They also provide Samsung, Motorola and Nokia phones for less than $100. A cheap MetroPCS phone can provide the connectivity needed by consumers who are looking to keep cost down.

Occasionally MetroPCS will offer deals, coupons and offer promotional offers to save on purchasing a new phone with them. Limited edition phones with exclusive artwork and/or music selections are offered as well.

Draw Backs of Using MetroPCS

Using no contract mobile phones does have its limitations. MetroPCS does charge extra for items that would typically be included in other service provider packages, such as caller ID and 411 service. Also MetroPCS operates on a CDMA carrier, which means that coverage may not be the best quality. While they offer international service, it is likely that calls will be dropped at a higher rate than using the more popular TDMA carrier which most service providers use. CDMA is slowly gaining in popularity and efficiency and could become as strong as TDMA in later years.

While there are some downsides of using MetroPCS service, it is a cost effective way to obtain and use cell phone service without a contract. Phones with no contract make it easy to stay connected until the next big paycheck comes along or it can just provide cell service without the commitment!
